Roamer Wireless Data-Link (2176-032) for TriLux, UniLux & UviLux Fluorometers
Roamer supplies the Lux fluorometers with power as well as acting as an interface to send and receive data over a Bluetooth wireless link to either a PDA (operating a CTG Windows Mobile application) or a PC (operating the Lux Graphical User Interface). When used in conjunction with a PDA, the software provided with Roamer enables users to record and display (in either tabular or graphical form) Lux data. If a GPS enabled PDA is used, all data can be position stamped.
Roamer is designed to operate with CTG’s range of miniature fluorometers – the UniLux, TriLux and UviLux.
The UniLux is a single parameter in-situ fluorometer which can detect one of Chlorophyll-a, Phycocyanin, Phycoerythrin for algae monitoring and Rhodamine or fluorescein for dye tracing applications. Also available as a nephelometer (turbidity).
The TriLux is a range of multi-wavelength digital fluorometers with combinations ofChlorophyll a, Phycoerythrin, Phycocyanin; Chlorophyll a, Turbidity, Phycoerythrin; and Chlorophyll a, Turbidity, Phycocyanin.
The UviLux is an in-situ UV fluorometer that can be configured to monitor the concentration of refined polyaromatic hydrocarbons (365nm), crude hydrocarbons (450nm), Coloured Dissolved Organic Matter (CDOM) and Tryptophan

Cable
A standard 5m Cable (2176-023) is available from CTG to provide a connection between the UniLux/TriLux/UviLux fluorometers and Roamer. This cable comprises a 600mm length of neoprene cable with moulded connector and locking sleeve for attachment to the UniLux/TriLux/UviLux fluorometers spliced to a thinner polyurethane clad cable with a connector suitable for Roamer. Cable lengths of up to 25m can be supplied.
Communications
Communications from Roamer to a laptop or PDA is achieved with Bluetooth wireless connection. The PDA receives the UniLux/TriLux/UviLux data over Bluetooth and displays and logs it. CTG can supply the PDA complete with software, or if client wishes to use his own PDA/PC, the application software is provided. The client’s own PDA needs to operate with Windows Mobile 5, have Bluetooth connectivity and a touch screen. The PC requires a Bluetooth connection and Windows XP/Vista.
